Reisenbach Foundation partner Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP) recently moved under the umbrella of New York Foundling, in order to become an even more powerful and connected advocate for the safety of NYC children.
As CAPP Executive Director Marian White says: “Joining forces with The Foundling is having an incredible impact on our ability to reach our goals. We’ve eliminated overhead costs for this program, decreasing our budget by 15% while increasing the reach of our services to 20,000 children.”
She continued, “Since we joined forces with The Foundling, myself and our prevention specialists have been able to focus 100% of our time and effort implementing CAPP efficiently and effectively, while all administrative functions – including finance, fundraising, communications, human resources, facilities, etc. – are managed by The Foundling’s business operations teams. This has had a tremendous effect on our staff’s satisfaction as well as productivity.”
According to CAPP’s records, this school year, the program has reached 9,000 children, and approximately 1% disclosed incidents serious enough to warrant a call to the State Central Registry after the workshop. “That’s 90 cases of child abuse that would otherwise go unreported,” she stated.
“Of course, we remain grateful for our continued partnership with the Reisenbach Foundation,” she said enthusiastically. “Together we have had an incredible impact on our community!”
