The Reisenbach Foundation is proud to partner with them to provide “Career Preparation for Formerly Incarcerated Adults.” Once a person is released from prison, they typically have little or no work experience that can be transferrable to their new life. Foster Pride is a nonprofit focused on working with young people who are in the foster care system. Statistics on foster care are startling; 7 out of every 10 homeless people were in the foster system. Additionally, 68% of former foster children have been on food stamps. Foster Pride works to reduce this phenomenon.
Citizens Committee has been a partner of the Reisenbach Foundation since 1999. With their micro- grants of $500- $3,000, residents of New York City can have their neighborhood initiatives funded.
