Today is another day in our “Fun in the Sun” Friday Post! It’s an installment of fun activities and volunteer opportunities as a part of our Summer in a Safe City (#NYCSafeSummer) campaign. This week, we have a lot of exciting outdoor movie events and creative volunteer opportunities!

Sunday, (July 19th):
— Volunteer with Gowanus Canal Conservancy to create a compost window using almost 5,000 lbs of food scraps (that’s an insane amount of compost). Email volunteer@gowanuscanalconservancy.org to RSVP!
— Have a four legged friend that would enjoy some fun activities outside? Does an obstacle course sound enticing? What about a “splash zone”? Tuesday, (July 21st):
— Volunteer at Sound Affects’ July Music Mezcal — a music fundraiser for raising awareness about and fighting cancer! Sound Affects is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the fight against cancer is fought and financed.
