Citizens Committee has been a partner of the Reisenbach Foundation since 1999. With their micro- grants of $500- $3,000, residents of New York City can have their neighborhood initiatives funded.
Our Reisenbach Safety Grants help reduce and prevent crime in low income neighborhoods throughout New York City. Our support has gone towards projects such as painting murals in neighborhoods riddled with graffiti, holding community events, and providing safe activities for at- risk youth.
The micro-grants provided by Citizens Committee and the Reisenbach Foundation are an important part of neighborhood development within New York City. From anti-gun violence projects directly addressing the issue to projects that give children in low-income neighborhoods safe places to play and meaningful activities in which they can get involved, each Reisenbach Safety Grant is helping everyday New Yorkers prevent and reduce crime in their neighborhoods. Together, we support projects that teach young people alternatives to violence, build connections across different social groups, and so much more.
It is truly a grassroots effort to keep New York City better and safer for everyone!
