I am currently in my last semester of my Master’s program in Criminal Justice. My specialization is in Investigative Techniques, and I will also be receiving my Advanced Certificate in Terrorism. Prior to becoming a police officer, I was active in the Graduate Center, participating in a number of seminars and workshops.
I assisted the Graduate Center once in giving a presentation for an open house, and I was also the speaker at the Dean’s List ceremony in the Fall of 2011.
With my completed degree, I hope to further my career in the police department.
My M.A. will qualify me for executive level positions, and my background in investigative techniques and counter terrorism will help me get into specialized units.
In fact, I am currently the counterterrorism officer in my precinct, and the training I am receiving from the job corresponds greatly with what I have learned from school. I hope to eventually become an investigator within the Counterterrorism Bureau of the department, and continue to take promotional exams so I can become a supervisor.
