The Reisenbach Foundation is pleased to announce our participation in this year’s Internet Week New York. IWNY supports our city’s vibrant tech-based economy and celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit and global impact of technology on business, entertainment and culture.
On Wednesday, May 20, Reisenbach Foundation Chairman Gerry Byrne will host an interview with NYPD Commissioner William Bratton. The program, “Technology, Crime and Policing in the Digital Age” will cover the police department’s role in monitoring cyber crime and prosecuting online offenders.
The exponential rise in the use of the Internet has revolutionized the types of crime police officers fight. From cyber bullying to international terrorism, digital technology has enhanced criminality like nothing we have seen before. The good news? The Internet and social media are powerful tools in the hands of police, too.
