Today, we are excited to highlight Adrain Gonzales. He is one reason that JAR continues to support the John A. Reisenbach & Judith Bronfman Memorial Scholarship program with John Jay College and our other non-profit partners.
Here is Adrian describing how he got to where he is today, and where he sees himself in the future:
I am a native New Yorker, born and raised in Far Rockaway, Queens. I am the child of immigrants from Trinidad and Venezuela and also a first generation graduate of both a Bachelors and Masters degree. Although, I studied information technology and computer science during my undergrad, I recently found a passion for investigative work. I have found a distinct interest in solving puzzles and putting things together. Nonetheless, both of my degrees have helped me in my career thus far and continue to allow me to connect with interesting people. I am currently employed at the New York City Department of Investigation where I have been an employee for approximately 3 years. Currently, my investigations focus on the Department of Homeless Services as well as the Human Resource Administration. I’m glad to say that the skills that I learned during my time at John Jay College has immediately assisted me in performing the duties of my job to the best of my abilities. In the future, I would like to take my career into federal law enforcement where I can learn more skills and further test myself. I always expect the unexpected in all my endeavors, so I know anything is possible in my future.
