New York Cares recruits, manages, and sends out thousands of teams of volunteers to over 1,300 schools, social service agencies, and other nonprofits each year.
These volunteers deliver a wide range of mission-critical services to our community partners – all falling into one of three issue areas: children’s and adult education, urgent needs (food, clothing, shelter), and revitalization.
Last year, 62,000 New Yorkers volunteered through New York Cares, helping high school students prepare for the SAT, assisting low-income residents with tax returns, cleaning up parks and public spaces, and so much more.
With 1,600 impactful volunteer projects managed by New York Cares every month, there is no limit to the ways civic-minded individuals can improve their city and the lives of those living at the lowest income levels.
