Safe Horizon’s Streetwork Project has been providing essential services for homeless and at-risk youth since 1984. Streetwork offers access to daily necessities; legal and medical assistance; mental health care; STI testing; and emergency shelter. Streetwork staff members also serve as tireless advocates, working together with young people towards long-term solutions.
Each year, the Streetwork Project makes more than 21,000 contacts with homeless young people and provides more than 65,000 meals. The support of the John A. Reisenbach Foundation helps to make Streetwork possible.
Last year the program served more than 65,000 hot, nutritious meals prepared by staff at its Harlem and Lower East Side Drop-In Centers.
