According to a study conducted by the Coalition for the Homeless, in 2015, of the 60,000+ homeless people sleeping in municipal shelters, 25,000 of them were children — the highest record to date.
The rates of homeless youth in New York City are continuing to rise, putting more people in danger with risks associated with homelessness (higher rates of assault, mental health issues, substance abuse, etc.).
