Summer in a Safe City Campaign Launch

Dear Friends,

Today marks the start of Summer 2018!

It’s been a full and exciting year so far for the John A. Reisenbach (JAR) Foundation, and we have so much more in store…

Throughout this summer, we will be highlighting the incredible work of our grant partners, donors, John Jay scholars, Board members, and more, by way of the Summer in a Safe City campaign.

Summer in a Safe City is an opportunity for us to showcase the people and organizations that make our work meaningful! Follow us each week on our blog here, as well as on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn!

Our goal is to raise $10,000 this summer to keep New Yorkers safe.

It is easy to give, and a small donation goes a very long way. For example:

  • $10 provides supplies for a girl starting a small business in the Handmade Program of Foster Pride
  • $50 provides education on physical and sexual abuse to an average of four children via workshops at the Child Abuse Prevention Program of New York Foundling
  • $250 provides two days of outreach services for homeless youth at the Safe Horizon Harlem Streetwork Center

Make your fully tax-deductible contribution of any amount here.

Thank you from all of our grantee partners that your gift will help support!

America Scores Jamboree 2018, an annual soccer and community service culmination event

Foster Pride Handmade program, an opportunity for teenage women in foster care to develop and launch their own line of crocheted items

The Fountain House Hardest to Serve Homeless Initiative, engages “hard to serve” individuals in a robust support program, providing necessary resources to live independently

Citizens Committee Bulletrun Micro-grant (2016), offers parkour workshops to the community as a safe activity at a local park in collaboration with the local police precinct

The John A. Reisenbach Foundation has worked “For a Better and Safer New York” since 1991. Through grants and strategic partnerships, we address systemic problems like unequal access to education and job training that keep individuals vulnerable and that contribute to poverty and crime. We strive every day to support safety, security, and a high quality of life for all New Yorkers.
