Summer in a Safe City

Manhattan from Queens

Dear Friends,

My name is Naomi Ryan, and I am honored to introduce myself as the first executive director of the John A. Reisenbach Foundation. It is a real privilege to work for an organization with such an exceptional legacy of service to New York City, and I would like to extend my thanks to all of Reisenbach’s donors and volunteers. Your support has made a true difference for individuals, organizations, and communities throughout all five boroughs.

This year, Reisenbach is entering a phase of growth and expansion. Building on twenty-four years of highly effective programming, we are working hard to do even more for New York City.  Today, we are launching a month-long online initiative called Summer in a Safe City (#NYCSafeSummer), which will leverage our internet presence to raise awareness of resources–particularly those provided by Reisenbach partners and grantees–that are available to New Yorkers who need a safe place to sleep, to eat, to prosper, or simply to relax and enjoy summertime in our amazing city. We welcome you to participate by visiting our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to comment on and share our posts.

Reisenbach is also working to scale up its fundraising. During Summer in a Safe City, our goal is to raise an additional $15,000 to support our work in the areas of Youth and Education; Neighborhoods; and Safety and Quality of Life. Your donations facilitate high-impact services like the Reisenbach Internship Program of YouthLink at the Police Athletic League, which offers job training, tutoring, and mentorship to young people in Brooklyn and the Bronx who have been in the family court system. One of the most remarkable things about Reisenbach is its dedicated community of supporters, and I am always interested in your feedback, ideas, and questions. Please feel free to contact me directly at Naomi.Ryan@reisenbachfoundation-2018.mystagingwebsite.com. Thank you again for all you continue to do for “a better and safer New York.”

Warm regards,
Naomi

The John A. Reisenbach Foundation has worked “For a Better and Safer New York” since 1991. Through grants and strategic partnerships, we address systemic problems like unequal access to education and job training that keep individuals vulnerable and that contribute to poverty and crime. We strive every day to support safety, security, and a high quality of life for all New Yorkers.
