James H. Rosenfield, Sr.

Chair Emeritus

James H. Rosenfield is President of JHR & Associates, consultants to traditional media, interactive digital media, communications and entertainment companies. He is also a consultant and board member of Red Sky Entertainment, digital publishers of more than 70 children’s, young adult and other genre digital books.

Rosenfield is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of John Blair Communications, Inc, a leading national sales representative for local television stations.

For two decades, Rosenfield held various sales and senior management positions at CBS, Inc. He began his career at CBS as an account executive in the television network sales department. Named President, CBS Television Network in 1980, Rosenfield was subsequently promoted to Executive Vice President, CBS Broadcast Group, responsible for the network’s key operating divisions, including CBS Television Network, CBS News, CBS Entertainment, and CBS Sports. He retired from CBS in 1985.

Rosenfield began his broadcast television career in the executive training program at NBC. He held prior positions at Polaroid Corporation, where he was an advertising manager, and was Vice President, Marketing at Airequipt, Inc, a manufacturer of photographic equipment. Rosenfield is Chairman Emeritus of the Reisenbach Foundation; Past President of the International Radio & Television Society (IRTS); Past Chairman, and Board member, of the Advertising Council; past board member of Salon Media; former board member of Internews International as well Junior Achievement, and a lifetime Fellow of the International Council of the Television Academy. He served in the US Army, Signal Corps Intelligence (ASA)

A graduate of Dartmouth College (’52) Rosenfield is a former alumni trustee of the Roxbury Latin School in his native Boston, MA and holds an Honorary PHD from St. John's University.
