Reisenbach Philanthropies to air annual ‘Dear New York’ TV special
Labor Day Weekend to raise funds for underserved New Yorkers

NEW YORK, Aug. 30, 2023 – Reisenbach Philanthropies, an organization dedicated to making New York a better and safer city, will broadcast its fourth annual “Dear New York” fundraising show over Labor Day weekend to raise money for underserved communities across the five boroughs. The 30-minute television special will share inspiring stories of everyday New Yorkers helping improve the city.

The show spotlights the inspiring stories of three Reisenbach grantee organizations: Central Park Medical Unit (CPMU), Foster Pride, and The Point CDC. The host of this year's show is Radina Russell, who serves on the foundation’s board of directors.

Reisenbach Philanthropies, previously The John A. Reisenbach Foundation, rebranded this year to reflect its evolution to a venture philanthropy from a traditional grant-making foundation. With the change, the foundation is creating new programs such as Amplify Your Impact, a one-year package of media consultations, workshops, and connections, and Accelerate Your Impact, which seeds high-potential pilot programs within nonprofits to address underserved needs.

Reisenbach Philanthropies supports 27 grantee organizations across three program pillars: youth and education, housing and community, and justice and safety.

“Dear New York” can be viewed on:

Saturday at 12 a.m. on CBS2
Sunday at 12 p.m. on WLNY 10/55, 2 p.m. on ABC7, and 4 p.m. on PIX11
Monday at 12:30 p.m. on FOX5, 1 p.m. on NY1, and 6:30 p.m. on MY9NJ

About Reisenbach Philanthropies

Reisenbach Philanthropies, formerly The John A. Reisenbach Foundation, creates a better and safer New York City - a city where everyone can thrive. The nonprofit incubator and venture philanthropy focuses on New York City. It makes strategic grants to nonprofit partners working in the city’s five boroughs across three program areas: youth and education, housing and community, and justice and safety. In 1990, advertising executive John A. Reisenbach was the victim of a random and senseless murder in the West Village. Determined to help prevent this kind of tragedy, John’s friends and colleagues in the advertising and media industries formed Reisenbach Philanthropies. Since 1991, Reisenbach has leveraged its roots in media and creative industries to partner with organizations building a better, safer New York City.
