Wendell Scott

Senior Vice President, Disney Advertising Sales

Wendell Scott is Senior Vice President, Disney Advertising Sales:

In this role, leveraging Disney’s linear, addressable and social offerings, Scott oversees advertising sales & partnerships for the WPP & Dentsu holding companies across Disney’s portfolio of brands including ABC, Hulu, Disney+, ESPN, Freeform, FX and National Geographic. A 22-year veteran of Disney and ESPN, Wendell also manages Advertising Sales for ESPN’s SEC and ACC College Sports Networks.

A graduate of Northeastern University, Wendell is a native New Yorker and serves on the board of the IRTS, whose mission is to promote, sustain and retain diverse talent in media sales and marketing and the NYC Board of Pencils For Kids, dedicated to helping children in need in developing countries to attend school and, in doing so build the foundation for a better future. Described as a beacon for diverse executives in the media and ad sales industry, Scott was knocking down doors for future leaders long before DEI became a priority for many companies. With his self-confidence and dedication, he’s helped marginalized people become successful not only at Disney, but also in the industry as a whole. Scott, a proud alum of the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program at UCLA, has paved the way for others to follow his lead. “I have the good fortune of ‘being in the room where it happens,’ and I have used my station and my voice to advocate for equity in recruitment, hiring, retention and promotion,” Scott says.

Scott has been recognized by the Harlem YMCA for his Achievement in Industry and has been named to Cablefax’s 2020 and 2021 Most Influential Minorities: The Diversity List, honoring the top multi-ethnic influential leaders who are shaping the media industry based on influence and accomplishments.
